FAQs

Are the tickets refundable?

No. We have a strict ‘no refund policy’. If a genuine mistake has been made, for example a table was purchased instead of two tickets, and we are alerted within two hours, we will refund the money. However, we cannot refund tickets for any other reason. For any mistakes made, please email animalball@feathers.charity.

Why is there an admin fee?

We have partnered with ticketing platform Give As You Live, who have generously reduced their already competitive administration fees, but there is still an associated cost. We would be very grateful if guests did choose to cover these, saving the charity much needed funds, but please be aware you are not obliged to do so, you can simply opt-out.

Will i be charged VAT?

No.  As we are a charity there is no VAT added to the tickets.

Can I change the names of my guests?

Yes. Please email animalball@feathers.charity to alert our team of the change of guests.

Will I be sent tickets in the post?

No. In the interests of sustainability and being mindful of the planet, we will email your confirmation and e-ticket which you should save on your phone, and present on the evening.

I have a question not listed here, who do I contact?

Please email Ebony Tobin at animalball@feathers.charity and she will be happy to assist.

If I want to make an additional donation on the night, will you accept credit cards and digital payments.

Yes. We would be delighted to receive additional donations and will have QR codes at your table for you to scan, taking you to a secure payment page.

What should I wear to comply with the White Tie dress code?

White Tie attire is the most formal of all dress codes and requires white bow ties with black tailcoats, and long ballgowns. As the ball is also an Animal Masquerade, masks should also be worn representing an animal species. We kindly ask that as we are celebrating the protection of animals and our planet guests refrain from wearing real fur and feathers. There are fantastic faux-animal options to choose and champion instead. For mask inspiration, we have partnered with Curious Fair where you can purchase luxury, handmade, vegan animal masks please click here.

What makes this different from other charity balls?

We have overhauled the outdated charity ball formula, and decided to focus on our attendees having a brilliant time. We want everyone to enjoy being with their partners and friends with no interruptions to their evening. That means there will be no raffle, or hard selling and no after dinner speakers. Instead, guests can expect live musical performances, lots of dancing along with some VIP appearances!

Additionally, for the Animal Ball we have partnered with new charity The Ecoflix Foundation UK - amalgamating our efforts to protect our communities and our planet, which are intrinsically linked. The whole event will be consciously produced with sustainability in mind as we stay loyal to our theme, while delivering a truly elegant evening. There will be as little wastage as possible, with no printed invites, handwritten place cards and menus, and an exquisite plant-based menu. For those not wishing to drink alcohol, there will be sophisticated alcohol-free options, both during the champagne reception and on the tables at dinner.

As the event is held at the Natural History Museum, itself an important non-profit organisation, we are supporting multiple charities, not just the crucial work of The Feathers Association and The Ecoflix Foundation.

What is a Plant-Based Menu?

Plant-based means there are no animal products served or used in the list of ingredients.  All ingredients are from plants.  It is much more sustainable, and better for the planet than animal-based menus.   It is also better for our animal friends.  Our kitchen team, led by Head Chef, Alistair Riley (previously Head Chef at the Haymarket Hotel), has created the most appetizing menu for the inaugural Feathers Animal Ball that we think will surprise and delight even the harshest of plant-based menu critics!

I usually eat meat, will I need to eat before I come to make sure I’m not hungry?

No.  The menu is like any other sophisticated and elegant dining experience menu. It is both delicious and satisfying.  International Chef Alistair Riley has created the most exquisite three-course plant-based cuisine that will delight your tastebuds, demonstrating that plant-based options are just as refined and attractive as the alternatives.

With no traditional auction how will you raise money?

The event raises much needed funds via ticket sales, sponsors as well as a highly curated, ‘first of its kind’ silent auction, with an exciting twist, thanks to our partner Bonhams. There will also be pledge QR codes for private donations on the tables, which would be enormously appreciated.

How are the profits split between the charities?

The money raised on the evening is split equally between The Feathers Association and The Ecoflix Foundation UK.
